Hullo...

Okay... how long have I been engaged? Almost two weeks...

So far we have the place and date picked, most of the dinner planned, the dress ordered, Babs's dress purchased, the save the date cards completed, the flowers figured out and a few other minor details. Which is likely why my blogging has been scant...

How's that for excited???!!!

Poor Spartan. I call or email him several times a day about it. I pretty much had the wedding planned in my head for months - and he and I are so similar in what we want that it all pretty much fell into place with little effort. The hardest part will be waiting until next July.

Spartan will be here on Monday so I am spending the weekend getting ready.

~ totally unrelated, but...

Yesterday at the grocery store, there was a woman shopping, in her cart she had 9 cases of bottled water, 2 protein bars and a box of cake mix. I was confused. It took everything in me not to approach her and beg an explanation. I should have though... I'm still wondering about it.

The woman shopping was obviously planning your wedding as well.

A belated CONGRATULATIONS is in order, I do believe! (See what happens when I go away for just a minute? People get engaged, get married, have lives and stuff!)

And that lady in the store was no worse than the one lady I saw who had in her cart a box of tampons, a bag of cornmeal and a bottle of olive oil......oh, wait....that was me. LMAO!

I've been away and come back to find you engaged!!! Fabulous! A big and heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Sounds like you're going to be the most organized bride in the history of weddings! Have you ever thought of being a wedding planner?

I love weddings - the romance, the pretty things, the booze, the princess dress........how exciting!

VERY pleased for you.
Kat :-)

limpy - yes... my owl will be delivering it presently. Just keep waiting.

katw - thanks so much! I don't know that I could plan a wedding for anyone else... and really don't give me too much credit - the wedding will be very small. So - it's a tad easier than most to organize.

It sounds like that woman is planning to (unexpectedly)entertain a reluctant gentleman caller...
something along the lines of the surpise 'date' that Kathy Bates had with James Caan in that Stephen King movie?

Too much pre-wedding planning scares off the groom. See "Sex in the City" the movie for further explanation.

donnnnn - hmmm. Hadn't thought of that.

lotus - not to worry. I've seen and it and won't be going there... except I would like the closet...

The woman shopping was obviously equipping herself for a deeply perverted act involving bottles, protein bars and cake mix.

Some people...

*rolls eyes*

white rabbit - I really want to have a peek at YOUR shopping list...*smirk*

Just don't look at my shopping list, okay???

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and that lady. See, she was probably fasting for a fantastic date. Drinking tons of water, and only allowing herself a protein bar occasionally so she wouldn't . . . you know . . . die of starvation. However, you can't have a guy come over and not offer him something yummy. Hence - the cake.

Plus, baking a cake makes your house smell yummy, and makes you seem all domestic and crap.

Not like I've ever done that. *whistles innocently*

oh wow...that is impressive!!! gosh, you should have choosen a closer date...what are you gonna do for the rest of your engagement??

elizabeth said...

callie - very good. I bet you are spot on!

(I must say... I may be guilty of a similar ploy... ok - got me - it WAS me.)

ruby - no kidding. LOL

The protein bar was for energy to get the water our to the car. The cake mix was picked up on accident, she thought it was a case of water.

Jeepers... hope I never have you following me around a grocery store ;-)

Sounds like you've got everything under control. Hope oyu're enjoying it.

She's on a starvation diet but she knows she is going to have to pig out at least once - then she plans on eating the protein bar and the whole cake at once?

Wow!!! Congrats on the wedding! He's one lucky guy!

As for the woman at the grocery, she's just like us. We have so much crap that the only thing we ever run out of is water...and occasionally cake mix! ;)

Oh my god... organised!!!! Aidan and I picked our date first, then kind of forgot... my bridesmaid called me about four months before the wedding (after we'd been engaged for over a year) and pretty much verbally kicked me up the butt, and got me actually doing something.
