The 90's shouldn't have happened...

This weekend - I ventured to a friend's house to have a relatively tame glass of wine (or two) but somehow ended up dancing around the living room to vile 90's rap music... (isn't that vid annoying? But it kind of illustrates how cool we looked...) and I knew every word. It was like instant brilliant flash back to the 90's - I envisioned myself - big hair and terribly untamed eyebrows*. It was quite the evening. This particular evening resulted in more photos floating out there in the universe of me acting like a total jackass dancing .... like just last month - when I thought I was one of the Charlie's Angels... didn't remember much the following morning but - thank goodness - there are pictures to remind me. *YAY*

* which makes me mad at my mom cuz... why'd she wait till I was 18 to take me to the salon to get my eyebrows waxed anyways? I'll be waxing Bab's when she's in - like grade 7. Cuz I'm cool. Cool mom. I'm going to make myself a badge - in my narcissistic cool mom-like manner. It's going to be big and diamond encrusted too... maybe with one of these pictures on it.

Great photos -

The nineties were funny - even now if i happen to hear Vanilla Ices' "Ice , Ice Baby" - I cant stop myself from singing along.

Just to clarify, "Bust a Move" is vile 80's rap music. Came out in 1989.

But it was all vile.

I would like to know what it is about wine that makes it so much more cruel than other alcohol? I can probly handle 4-5 beer no big deal. I can only handle 2 glasses of wine. Max! ...I also had a few too many glasses of wine this weekend, I think we may have partied like it was 1999!

hullaballoo - wouldn't that have been fun?! I'll have to bring the cd to europe one of these days!

tamara - classic indeed. Classic blackmail methinks...

being brazen - wasn't Vanilla Ice a fun one (now I've got the song in my head...)

earl - I stand corrected! It's all a blur.

real live lesbian - we will have to organize a 90's blog party (like block party - only blog)

paige - mmm. Wine does it every time. Next weekend is a wine tour (uh-oh).

Oh my gosh, the 90's were the best era ever! Except for the rap perhaps.

The 90s rap videos were a misogynists wet dream! What do you mean Can't Touch This?

The feminist movement is still recovering thanks to all those gyrating bootylicious boy-toys...
but you could dance to it!

I have about 5 million hours of 90s music because my 'girls' grew up during it and I actually love a lot of it..although my formative musical years were the early 70s which you cannot deprogram..
anyway I'm not some old curmudgeony dinosaur...and the Backstreet Boys are coming to WhatEVERpeg..I went to the Foo Fighters with my girls but I'd prolly cramp their screaming at BB.

btw
my current earworms are Ting Tings, Iglu & Hartly, Ten Second Epic, Bloc Party, and Mute Math.

slyde - dunno. Did you leave it here?

Donnn - cooler musical taste that I, methinks. I need to branch out. I've been listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Sinatra on repeat for days... except when at the gym when I include some Toto* and pop music to sweat to... which was likely too much information.

*** I have mentioned in the past that most mixed cds, playlists etc seem to include the song Africa from Toto. Not sure why. It just gets there somehow.
