Bolivia Bug

A few things - remind me not to go to Bolivia. Also - tell me why I keep thinking it will look up and have a person's face?

badger- it's good to see you being so positive! Keep up the good work ;o)

This thing is disgusting. I've seen it on youtube before and it just doesn't get any easier. Although nothing beats the spider you posted a while back.

If I ever saw a bug like that in real life, I would probably squash it with my boot.

Then, I would feel bad...like maybe it was the last surviving bug of some long-gone era and I extincted it. Yeah, I know that's not a word...deal with it.

Then, I would feel really bad because the bottom of my boot would look and smell just un-godly.

Fucking bug!

Wow, that thing is amazing! Even though I have a zoology degree and an interest in invertebrates I have no idea what it is. Superb!

As to why you think it might have a human face... Because you're weird? ;-)

that thing is awesome!
probably deadly poisonous, which im sure is its built-in defense mechanism - death by cuteness!! cuddle me and die horribly hahahaha!

Earl - don't squash it - it would propably send it's Mommy after you... it's much larger befanged Mommy.

Funchilde - I hear ya. I'd be back in my suspended bubble (earlier post re spiders....search my blog for it and you will find something horrific)

elohelae - um.....sort of.... but then again maybe not so much.... I'm torn. What to do? Maybe cuddle it in a hasmat suit? (sp?)

George - You are perhaps the funniest person on planet earth

Stef - that's very impressive -- and very cool. Yes - I am weird. - but doesn't it kind of remind you of something you would see in say.... Alice in Wonderland? (or Monty Python anyways)

lg - didn't think of that.... wonder if it is? Wonder if it emits a sweet smell too - just to draw you in before it eats you? (we have these caterpillars here that smell sickly sweet and I'm not sure why - it's disturbing) Stef? Can you help me out here?

With a quick bit of research it looks like it's a sort of catterpillar. Lg was spot on too "The 'fur' of the larva contains venomous spines that cause extremely painful reactions in human skin upon contact"

Thanks Stef! My very own research dept. Who knew? Did you look at the adult? It had furry feet and wings! Really cool. Good thing we all know that it is venomous - since I would more than likely try to pet it in reality. Actually, I'd probably put little ribbons on it, or french braid it or something. But I babble...thanks again for looking that up!

Just don't snuggle it...
