A Whirlwind of a Weekend...

Spartan has returned to his home far away and I am left to survive the next month waiting until we are together again. Less than a month.

While he was here we went to the gym a couple of times so that Spartan could demonstrate his newest and most advanced torture techniques to me. One of the exercises involves putting an exercise ball up on a flat bench and then using your upper body to hold the rest of your body stable while you proceed to lift your legs up into the air into a 45 degree angle. I thought; um... are we going to be trying out for that new Circus of the Stars show? Like hell I can do that - but surprisingly I did... the one exercise I couldn't quite master was the one where you roll out onto the exercise ball and using one toe to balance in a plank position preform a set of push ups... I could only hold myself in the plank position - no push ups. Something to aim for at any rate.

My arms were so sore that I couldn't lift a blueberry to my mouth and had to lean my face into the plate this morning.

By the time I catch up to Spartan in the gym - I will be able to be a contender on the Gladiator program.

Hope all of you guys are enjoying your summer! Now I'm off to catch up with what all of you guys have been up to all week...

So you haven't seen my "Samurai Earl" pic yet, eh? ;)

This long-distance relationship stuff has to be difficult. Any plans on moving closer together? Or is this just a temporary situation?

WV: My anti-spam word is SPWAM. That made me laugh.

Nice pic earl - you are getting very brave... but will we see the end result???

Yep. Hard as hell actually. We will figure something out one of these days - in the meantime I am hatching a plan to kidnap him...

Who wants to help?

Count me in! I like the covert ops stuff.

Jeez, girl - even your Meez doesn't look happy with the new workout. Spartan must be a slave driver!

You wanna see a pic of my rear end? Good Lord woman! He JUST left! ;)

callie - mmmm. That actually sounds kind of fun. I actually love working out with him... but I am awfully sore today. ;-) By next week, however, the new things won't be such a struggle... here's hoping.

earl - leave it to you...

Big red balls are the new torture device of most gyms. If you don't beleive me, watch the ABC reality show Wipeout. The stars of the show are the big red balls.

My husband was really into fitness and training and stuff for a while... not so much now, he doesn't have time, thank god... but while it lasted, he tried to show me various excercises and whatnot. I think walking will do me!

I suffer from white man's no-ass syndrome. None at all. Negative ass. I could easily fit two large melons in my pants back there.

Any ladies out there wanna offer up their melons? ;)

You know the exercise I have the hardest time with? Heaving my lazy backside off of the couch! Not to mention my new program "Eating your own Weight in 24 hours". (No, I am NOT bitter that I am trying to lose the weight I gained after quitting smoking and it is STILL there!! I'm not bitter at all.....REALLY!)

Awwww you poor thing. A month! That's tough.

I have HullabaHappiness on tap. And now the accommodation nightmare has been sorted, we're thinking of seriously downgrading our mobile phone contracts. Joy!

lotus - lol. I'll have to check it out ;-)

stace - yeah. After Spartan was done making me do lunges I couldn't even walk... lol

slyde - post it up there. He deserves it.

earl - go to a time out.

sprinkle - it will go. Come work out with me, muah hahahaha.

bobo - *JOY* that is wonderful.

I like to demonstrate various techniques for opening beer bottles without using a bottle opener.

That's abotu as strenuous as I care to get in mixed company, if you know what I mean. Because I don't.

Ohhh limpy. Start doing dead lifts with a case of beer ;-)

I wish it was summer here. So cold! We have stability ball sessions once a week at the office. Our instructor can stand on the damn thing without help. It's sickening.

tamara - I wish it was warmer there too! I hate winter.

You are so lucky that your office does that! Very cool.
