Silent Auctions

I have learned something about myself this week.... I should never attend silent auctions. I am now the proud new owner of a baseball signed by Tony Fernandez. For some reason I simply HAD TO HAVE THIS. At least the money went to charity... who is Tony Fernandez anyways?

Hey, I think he's a former Blue Jay - left fielder maybe. If so, my mom would pay you a handsome fee for that ball...if not, I'm a loser...
miss you...

oh yeah, forgot, that was from your old neighbour

Hey Christine - you are indeed correct. He was a Blue Jay.

Miss you too!

I hate auctions.

If I want something I just want to know how much it is, decide if I'm willing to pay that and either buy or leave. I even hate haggling.

I also look stupid in baseball caps. Makes my ears look even bigger they are!

Liz. What in the hell were you drinking this weekend? Buying Baseballs signed by washed-up Blue Jays? You're definately losing it!

Tony Fernandez was a fantastic infielder (mostly SS) for the Blue Jays back in the 80's. He bopped around after that (even back with the Jays) until he retired a few years back.

Probably one of the top ten all-time players for the Jays. He was an automatic Gold Glover at SS during the late 80's.

He also was the last regular starting shortstop for the Yankees before Derek Jeter. He started over 100 games for the Yanks in 1995.

Tony Fernandez was/is the man!

Well, I'll think on it. Probably not gonna do it for me though. (Nice try)
