You were a bartender - that's cool - I always wanted a job like that - I poured drinks for a while but was never a "real" bartender.

I notice you like foods that start with C or P - does that include Cabbage, or Pinapple?

I like gladiator too - but not enough killing - more killing! Yeah! I also like black hawk down - if only there were like women snipers (we'll have to wait for the isreali remake). I am have a very pro-violence day!

Yes actually - bartending was fun. Plus at the time all my friends hung out at the pup so I kind of got paid to do what I would be doing anyways - and my boss let us drink on the job. It has also left me with the completely useless ability to mix a martini, pour guiness and choose a very posh scotch.

Uck - cabbage. I like pina coladas? That count?

Carrie - completely forgot about that job... weird. The things we do when we're kids, hey? (that was fun though - all those mobile security boys bringing me chocolates and coffee to work all the time...remember the guy with the pink truck - rolflmao)

You were chased by coyotes? That sounds like a cool job - you got me thinking about jobs so much I keep thinking about new and even worse jobs I have ended up having - what are the worst jobs you've have (or were those them?)

Ooooh, I might have to pinch this. Except I've only had two holidays and can only cook two things...

Perhaps you could edit me a 'two things' version...

damn I'm lazy. See how lazy? Couldn't even be arsed to put a capital on that.

Beth -
Didn't really work too many jobs. First job was as a dish pig at an old people restaurant - swiftly promoted to hostess for geriatric patients. That was one of the worst jobs (hey girls) but then it WAS child labour.

badgerdaddy - just repeat everthing twice with copy function. lol.

Ahh the country spladder..uh hem..i mean platter. Oh how I miss entire shifts of peeling and 'whitening' potatoes, particularily in the dead of summer when the 75lb sacks that were stored in the 40 degree storage area were full of maggots and smelled like the worst baby shit you could imagine. Those were the good old days.

But damn
I nearly forgot how amazing those
fresh cut fries with pork gravy were, and how it seemed i could eat a pound and never gain one. Oh to eat crap and never gain an inch. Those were the good old days.

elizabeth said...

Okay Kath - just throwing this out there but -- WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THAT BEFORE I ATE THE POTATOES???? Please god tell me you just tossed the whole bag - RIGHT? Lucky for me I didn't work in the kitchen because - seriously - that would have killed me. (Just added to list of aversions-- maggots in all their juicy splendor -)

Don't forget the coconut cream pie. Mmmmm. I used to lock myself in the freezer and eat a slice all the time.

Kat said...

I don't think there was anything left in those bags that even remotely ressembled what once should have been potatoes. It was just a maggoty runny bag of shitty smelling mess. And chances are it was not myself who threw it out cause I think I screamed and ran away. If there is one thing I'm a wuss over it's maggots. *squirming*

That's right - I blame you.

MAGGOTS!!!! Funny you should mention them! I had a run in with some of those horrible creatures just this morning...a "to-go" Swiss Chalet dinner...leftovers rotting in the heat in a garbage bag alongside the house. I was in my sock feet and they were everywhere! I ripped off all my clothes and jumped in a hot shower...gagging!
Just a reminder of why I want to be cremated...!?!?

elizabeth said...

Yeah. Count me in on the cremation thing... unless of course I manage to be rich enough to be frozen for all eternity - muaw hahahahaha. I'd be like the Snow white of the future - only with a french manicure.
